Natalie® – the fruits of this sweet cherry variety have it all: each fruit bears a black stripe on a red background, as if a diligent artist had painted each fruit with a steady hand. Your customers will immediately notice that this is something special!
'Natalie®' - the fruits of this sweet cherry variety are really unique: each fruit has a black stripe on a red ground, as if a painter had carefully painted each fruit with a steady hand. Your customers will immediately notice that this is something special: they intuitively pick up the extravagant fruit! And the best thing is: 'Natalie®' is a mutant of the German variety 'Regina'. Once bred in Jork, 'Regina' has started its triumphant march across the entire cherry world. Today it is one of the main varieties in Central Europe. Anyone who knows 'Regina' can also successfully produce 'Natalie®'. It differs from its parent variety only in fruit colour. So growing this variety will be easy for you.
VARIETY PORTRAIT 'Natalie®'
Tree characteristics: correspond exactly to those of the cultivar 'Regina'.
Flowering and fruiting: flowering time very late. S alleles S1S3.
All sweet cherry varieties suitable for 'Regina' are suitable as pollinators, e.g. 'Karina', 'Sylvia', 'Irena', 'Schneiders', 'Skeena', 'Rubin', 'Sam', limited 'Kordia'. 'Regina' is of course not suitable as a pollinator variety, as 'Natalie®' is a mutant of the variety.
Fruit: Late to very late ripening, 7th cherry week.
Red coloured. At the ventral seam, each fruit bears a dark red stripe that extends exactly from the stem base to the pistil point. This stripe makes the fruit absolutely distinctive.
The flesh of the fruit is mostly yellow. Only the part of the flesh between the characteristic black stripe and the stone is coloured red.
The size and taste otherwise correspond to the fruits of the 'Regina' variety.
